Think back to the last time you encountered a problem that stumped you for days, or even weeks or months. How did you overcome it?
Creating Receptive Conditions for Problem-Solving
A study out of Goldsmiths, University of London monitored brain activity while volunteers attempted to solve a problem. Those with high gamma rhythm patterns had “locked” thoughts, meaning they were unable to organize their thoughts and solve the problem. But this isn’t for a lack of trying. “If there’s excessive attention, it somehow creates mental fixation. Your brain is not in a receptive condition,” said assistant professor Joydeep Bhattacharya.
Participants who tackled the problem with an open mind were able to solve it more quickly. To come up with a solution, they had to loosen up, rather than concentrating on it too hard. They literally had to move outside the problem in their minds to see it more clearly, and solve it.
At ATS Secured, we believe solutions often live outside a problem’s framework. That’s why we’ve created an entirely new way to originate mortgages and sell them on the secondary market. The mortgage process is truly too complicated when you’re in the middle of it, let alone trying to prove compliance to regulators.
It needs a solution that’s beyond the original loan framework, that actually brings all parties to the loan together. Find out more here.
